Women's Flag Football Falls to Holy Family, Centenary

Hackettstown, N.J. -- Marywood University was within a touchdown of its first women's flag football victory heading into the final quarter in a loss to Holy Family University. The Pacers lost to the Tigers 40-20 and fell to host Centenary University by a 59-0 score. 

Marywood took a 20-18 lead with 8:30 remaining in the third quarter. Maya Eberly ran in two yards for a touchdown. Holy Family finished the game with 22 unanswered points. 

Erin Day completed 25 of 47 attempts for two touchdowns. Eberly ran for one touchdown on her lone carry. 

Abi Whitmore caught 10 passes for 136 yards. Eberly caught seven passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Kelsey Green caught eight passes for 55 yards. 

In the loss to the Cyclones, Day went 14 for 34 for 183 yards. 

Eberly caught seven passes for 69 yards. Whitmore fielded three passes for 59 yards. Kelsey Green caught four for 45 yards. 

Defensively, Day made eight tackles. Whitmore had seven tackles and one breakup. Green had six tackles, and Jessica Kline tackled four players. 

Marywood plays Chestnut Hill College Sunday in a doubleheader.
