4x100 Relay Breaks Nine-Year Record

Marywood finishes season sweep of relays

Dallas, Pa. — Marywood University women's track and field garnered third place out of 10 teams at the Misericordia Invitational on Saturday. The Pacers finished with 114 points.

The Pacers' 4x100 relay of Elizabeth Tomassetti, Abby Megotz, Tasiyah Johnson and Braelyn Reed ran 50.7 seconds to break a nine-year school record. Marywood came in first place overall.

Kalie Fernandez-Naughton won the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, 7 3/4 inches (5.07m). Fernandez-Naughton had the second-farthest jump in school history. Johnson came in fourth place in 16 feet, 1 inch (4.9m) with the fifth-best distance at Marywood.

Fernandez-Naughton was also third in the triple jump with a distance of 32 feet, 4 3/4 inches (9.87m).

Alli Griscavage was eighth with a discus throw of 98 feet, 8 inches (30.07m). She finished fourth in school history.

Abby Megotz won the 400 hurdles in 1:15.6 Tomassetti followed in second place in 1:20.32.

Marywood's 4x400 relay of Tomassetti, Megotz, Camilla Zimmerman and Johnson took third place in 4:24.35.

Reed sprinted to a 12.92-second finish in the 100 dash. She came in second place.

Paige Redman came in fourth place in the 5K with a time of 20:29.99. Cassandra Juliano was sixth in 21:54.11, and Bella Auchenbach earned seventh in 21:56.24.

Johnson ran to a fourth place run in the 400 in 1:04.84. Rylee Alston made her Marywood debut in sixth place in 1:10.29.

Marywood will compete at King's College next Sunday.
