Reed, Relay Rewrite Records at York

4x800 relay smashes 11-year old school record by 27 seconds

York, Pa. — The Marywood University women's track and field team dismantled the school record book at the York College Twilight Meet on Wednesday. Facing stiff competition from their future Middle Atlantic Conference opponents, the Pacers finished 12th of 13 teams with 16 points.

Freshman Braelyn Reed broke the 100 dash record with a fifth-place finish in 12.82 seconds. Reed beat out Lindsey Ansbro's seven-year old record by eight-hundredths of a second.

The Pacers' 4x800 relay smashed an 11-year old school record by 27 seconds seconds. The foursome of Paige Redman, Caroline Walters, Janelle Sanabria and Camilla Zimmerman were the runner-ups in a time of 10:30.82.

Both Carly and Caroline Walters jumped up the 400-meter record books. Carly Walters placed 10th overall in 1:00.44, running the second-fastest time in school history. Caroline Walters pursued in 13th place in 1:01.84 to tie for the fourth-best time at Marywood.

Tasiyah Johnson was shortly behind in 14th place in 1:01.92.

Elizabeth Tomasetti came in fifth place in the 400 hurdles. She ran the second-best time in Marywood history in 1:10.02. In the 100 hurdles, Tomasetti was 16th place in a wind-assisted 17.79 seconds.

In the throws, Alli Griscavage was 11th place with a discus throw of 96 feet, 7 inches (29.45m). Rachel Geber was and Cate Fruscione were 21st and 22nd in the shot put, respectively, with throws of 7.41m and 7.34m.

Kalie Fernandez-Naughton measured at 15 feet, 6 1/4 inches (4.73m) for 14th place in the long jump. She cleared 4 feet, 1 1/4 inches (1.25m) in the high jump for 17th place.

Sanabria was 20th in the 800 in 2:32.57, and Redman came in 23rd in the 1,500 in 5:22.421.

Marywood will compete on April 10-11 at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
