Women’s Tennis Swept at Pratt

Queens, N.Y.- The Marywood University women's tennis team dropped an Atlantic East Conference matchup on Thursday, falling 7-0 to Pratt Institute at the USTA National Tennis Center.

Pratt set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. The duos of Pallavi Verghese and Kayla Abraham at No. 1 and Beatrice Crespo and Ariana Castro at No. 2 each earned convincing victories, while Pratt also secured the No. 3 doubles point to complete the sweep.

In singles play, Pratt continued its dominance, winning all six flights in straight sets to clinch the shutout. Abraham led the way at No. 1 singles with a strong performance, while Verghese and Crespo followed with decisive wins at the second and third positions. Pratt also picked up victories at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles to seal the match.

The Pacers head to Marymount next Saturday.
