Tiedemann Named Pitcher of the Year, Five Received All-Conference Honors

Haddonfield, N.J.- The Marywood University baseball team had one major award winner and five players earn all-conference honors, the Atlantic East Conference announced Wednesday afternoon as part of its end of the season awards.

Danny Tiedemann earned Pitcher of the Year honors after an outstanding senior campaign, becoming the first player in program history to receive the conference's top pitching award. He finished the season with a perfect 5-0 record and a 2.83 ERA. In conference play, Tiedemann posted a stellar 1.60 ERA and 1.08 WHIP while striking out 26 batters across 47.2 innings pitched. The Manorville, N.Y., native helped the Pacers to a fourth seed in the Atlantic East Playoffs, their first AEC postseason appearance and first postseason appearance since 2015.

Senior first baseman Ethan Reccek joins Tiedemann as a First Team All-United East selection. He wrapped up his final collegiate season with a .309 batting average, two home runs, and 22 RBIs.

Joel Ayers earned his second consecutive Second Team All-United East honor. The junior utility player posted a .373 batting average while adding two home runs and 33 RBIs on the season.

Junior pitcher Isaac Galarza collected his first all-conference recognition as a second team starting pitcher. Galarza finished the season with a 5-1 record across 14 appearances, including eight starts. He struck out 29 batters over 48.1 innings pitched. He also had two saves on the year.
