Fernandez-Naughton Earns Two Atlantic East Track & Field Major Awards

Haddonfield, N.J.- The Atlantic East Conference announced the Women's Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference teams and major awards on Wednesday. The All-Conference teams are voted on by the league's head coaches.

The Pacers earned three first team honors and eight second team recipients.

Kalie Fernandez-Naughton was awarded the Field Athlete of the Year, taking home gold in the triple jump with a 9.65m mark. At the championship meet, she also posted a new personal record in the high jump (1.36m), landing a second-place finish. Fernandez also earned bronze in the long jump, posting a 4.71m mark. Her best shot put on the season reached 7.78 meters.

In addition, Fernandez-Naughton also took home the Atlantic East Elite Scholar Athlete Award. This honor is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the finals site at each of the Atlantic East's championships. She is majoring in History and holds a perfect 4.0 GPA. 

Elizabeth Tomassetti earned first team all-conference honors in the 400-meter hurdles after winning the event in a school-record time of 1:09.69. Abby Megotz followed closely behind, earning second team honors with a runner-up finish in 1:14.87.

Marywood's 4x400 relay team of Tomassetti, Megotz, Caroline Walters, and Carly Walters secured first team recognition after capturing the conference title in a school-record time of 4:05.25. The quartet also earned second team honors in the 4x100 relay.

Carly Walters added a second team selection in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:26.95. Paige Redman also received second team honors in the 10,000 meters with a time of 41:57.86.

Tasiyah Johnson and Alyssa Kavleski collected second team recognition in the long jump and triple jump, respectively. Johnson posted a mark of 16 feet, 2 1/4 inches (4.93m), which ranks fifth in program history, while Kavleski recorded a leap of 30 feet, 5 3/4 inches (9.29m) to finish second in the triple jump.

Alli Griscavage rounded out Marywood's all-conference honorees with a second team selection in the discus after placing runner-up at the conference meet with a throw of 106 feet, 1 inch (32.34m).
