Men’s Soccer Falls to Centenary, 2-1

Hackettstown, N.J.- The Marywood University men's soccer team suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to Centenary University Wednesday afternoon. 

The Pacers drop to 1-2-2 with the defeat.

Marywood got on the board first in the 22nd minute as Grant Bernstein fired a shot in the top right-hand corner from 25-yards out to give the Pacers a 1-0 lead. 

Centenary would equalize the contest as Shane Gambarony found the back of the net in the 63rd minute. The Cyclones took the lead 14 minutes later as Aeden Dorwart scored the eventual game winning goal to give Centenary the win. 

Brett Rosser and Jairo Salazar split time in goal, with Salazar making four saves.

The Pacers outshot the Cyclones 27-8 with five of their shots being on target. They held a 7-3 advantage on corner kicks. 

Marywood concludes their lengthy roadstand on Saturday, Sept. 19 when they take on Penn State Berks at 2:30 p.m.
