The Pacers responded emphatically in the third.

Marywood jumped out to a 7-3 lead before DeSales closed the gap to 7-6. The Pacers then regained control behind a run that included five consecutive points from Samaniego, who delivered two service aces and a kill during the stretch. Marywood extended its advantage to 17-12 and never looked back, closing out the set.

With history within reach, Marywood found itself in a back-and-forth fourth set.
