Top-Seeded Pacers to Host No. 4 Neumann in Atlantic East Semi

Marywood defeated Knights 18-5 just seven days ago

Scranton, Pa. – Top-seeded Marywood University will host the Atlantic East Conference women's lacrosse semifinal against Neumann University on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Pacers are looking to return to a conference championship appearance for the third consecutive season.

TOURNEY TIME
  • Marywood has reached four conference finals, looking for its first conference title in the inaugural Atlantic East tournament. Marywood also reached the ECAC championships last season.
  • This will be the third time Marywood is the No. 1 seed in a conference tournament.
  • Marywood and Neumann last faced in the playoffs in 2017. The then-No. 2 Pacers knocked off Neumann 20-4.
PACER POINTS
  • Gwyneth Gleason leads the Pacers in goals (46), points (57), ground balls (50), caused turnovers (33), and draw controls (68).
  • Gleason became the sixth in program history to join the 200 Point Club in the last regular season game.

SCOUTING NEUMANN
  • Neumann stands at 11-7 with a 3-3 mark in conference play.
  • The Knights defeated Immaculata in the first round, thanks to Brittany Cassidy's four goals and two assists.
  • Kaitlyn Conrad leads the Atlantic East in scoring with 79 goals and 93 points. Cassidy has 44 goals and 14 assists for 58 points with 39 caused turnovers and 41 ground balls. Reilly Feidler has 38 goals on the year.
  • Catriona Corrigan sports a conference-best 201 saves.
THE SERIES
  • Neumann took an early lead before the Pacers pieced together seven-straight goals en route to an 18-5 victory in the regular season finale. Molly Yelencsics and Zoe Simeone tallied six points on five goals and an assist. Gwyneth Gleason was all over the field with six points, four caused turnovers, and six ground balls. Neumann was led by Courtney Petrucelli's hat trick.
  • Marywood holds a 9-8 edge in the season series. The Pacers have won the last four meetings. Marywood is 2-3 against Neumann in the playoffs.
UP NEXT
  • The victor will take on the winner of the #2 Cabrini/#3 Marymount matchup on Saturday at the highest remaining seeed.
