Men's Golf Falls Short against Royals

Tunkhannock, Pa. - Playing The University of Scranton for the second time in nine days, Marywood University's men's golf team improved by five strokes but still came up short against the Royals at Stonehedge Golf Course in Tunkhannock.

The Royals took today's match 300-310.  Last week, they beat the Pacers by one stroke, 314-315.

Matt Flemming led the Royals with medalist honors after shooting a low round of 70.  Marywood's Joseph Weber came in second with a round of 73.  Thomas McAuliffe finished third for Scranton after shooting a 74.

Marywood's Eddie McGreevy and Scranton's Calvin Ralph both shot a 77, while the Pacers' Luke Flederbach fired a 78.  Ian Connell (79) and Nick Campanelli (80) finished next for Scranton, while Marywood's Connor Kellaher (82) and James Tressler (84) finished ninth and tenth, respectively.

Marywood will take on King's Thursday at the Wyoming Valley Country Club in Hanover Township.
