Kelly Runs Record-Setting 800 at Fastrack National Invite

Staten Island, N.Y. — Senior Michael Kelly earned his first individual Marywood University men's track and field school record this weekend at the Fastrack National Invite in New York City. Kelly currently holds three school records as part of relays.

Kelly ran a 2:02.28 in the 800 to perform the rare feat of taking down a David Haines '21 record. Kelly's time was 29-hundredths of a second faster than the Haines mark. His time was six seconds faster than his PR. Kelly placed 57^th in the field.

John Russo followed Kelly with 2:03.06 finish for the third-best at Marywood. Russo shaved 2.35 seconds off his previous best. Kelly and Russo rank 37^th and 45^th in the region.

In the open mile race, Thomas Lee finished in third place with a 4:34.06. Caleb Bakalyar was 11^th with a 4:38.8 performance. They set the third and fifth fastest mile times, respectively, in Marywood history. Bakalyar's mile was six seconds faster than his career best.

In the select mile race, Jack Baronski ran an AARTFC qualifying time of 4:20.12 to finish in 12^th place overall. With his run, Baronski ranks eighth in the region and ran the second-best mile of any Marywood runner.

George Thompson clocked in with the second-best 200 dash time in Marywood history. He shaved a quarter of a second off his PR to finish in 23.37 seconds.

Marwood's distance medley relay of Bakalyar, Thompson, Lee and Baronski was fifth place in a time of 10:39.42. Like the women's team, they rank 42^nd in NCAA Division III.

Noah Zeigler had a pair of PRs. He dropped two-tenths in the 60 dash to finish 24^th in 7.38 seconds. Zeigler ran the third-best 200 in Marywood history, finishing in 23.43 seconds. His run was 74-hundredths of a second better than his previous best to rank 39^th in the region.
