Cardillo Named Atlantic East Track Athlete of the Year

Marywood collects seven First Team, six Second Team All-Atlantic East awards

Haddonfield, N.J. — Marywood University senior Joseph Cardillo was named the Atlantic East Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Year, officials announced Wednesday. The Pacers collected seven First Team and six Second Team honors.

Cardillo earned Track Athlete of the Year honors with three conference championships. He won the 1,500 (4:17.52), 5,000 (16:03.93), and 10,000-meter (33:33.75) runs. Cardillo's 10K time set a new conference championships record.

Cardillo captured First Team All-Atlantic East awards in all three events. He becomes the fifth conference Track Athlete of the Year, joining Michael McCann (2023); and David Haines (2018, 2019, 2021). Cardillo completes his career with five First Team and four Second Team All-Atlantic East awards.

Raidan Francis was selected First Team All-Atlantic East in the 800. Francis ran a 2:03.01 in the race. He was also Second Team All-Atlantic East in 1,500 with a time of 4:19.36.

Ethan Williams grabbed First Team Honors in the 3,000 Steeplechase with a time of 10:52.03.

Daniel Lauresen secured First Team All-Atlantic East in the pole vault. He cleared 9 feet, 6 1/4 inches (2.9m).

AJ Rosenfeld's upset win in the javelin notched First Team All-Conference honors. He hit a mark of 153 feet (46.63m).

On the track, Brody Graff earned Second Team All-AEC with a time of 2:04.6 in the 800.

Shilo Bivins topped 5 feet, 11 1/2 inches (1.82m) for Second Team honors in the high jump. Zach Hoover threw a shot put 39 feet, 6 1/2 inches (12.05m) for Second Team All-Atlantic East.

The men's 4x100 relay of Cyrus Holland, Kunda Ngoy, Robert Russo and Bivins earned Second Team All-Atlantic East with a time of 44.6 seconds.

In 10 outdoor track and field conference championships, Marywood has 74 First Team and 73 Second Team honors.
