Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at MASCAC Championships

Southwick, Mass. — Marywood University finished in seven place in the team standings at the MASCAC Men's Golf Championships this weekend. The Pacers finished with a 135 over-par after two days on The Ranch Golf Course links. 

Salem State had a come-from-behind victory to take the team championship over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Salem State shot a 16-over on the second day to defeat the Mountain Lions. 

Fellow Atlantic East member Marymount University was fourth with a 71-over par. Springfield College took third place. Worcester and Westfield State were fifth and sixth, respectively. 

Baden Hancock finished in 26th place with a +29. Ben Galko followed one place behind with a +30. Both improved in their second day rounds, shooting 12-over par. 

Zachary Valeski (+36) and Zachary Carpenter (+41) were 32nd and 33 places, respectively. Luke Landis rounded out the Pacers' golfers in 34rd place with a +47. 

Marymount's Chase Manion was selected First Team All-MASCAC with a third place finish. The Saints' Nititorn Chimjiw earned Second Team All-MASCAC in ninth place. 

Marywood will compete in a tri-match versus Penn State Abington and Marymount at Stone Hedge Golf Course in Tunkhannock on Thursday.
