NCAA PREVIEW | Pacers Head to Wesleyan (CT) for NCAA Division III Field Hockey Opening Round

This is the second straight tournament appearance for Marywood

Middletown, Conn. – Marywood University will compete in the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championships for the third time in school history on Wednesday. The Atlantic East Conference champion Pacers will head to Middletown to take on No. 7 Wesleyan University at 6 p.m.

The broadcast will be aired on NCAA Champs Pass.

The Pacers (11-9) captured their third Atlantic East title with a 3-0 victory over Neumann University on Saturday. Dariane Jones scored twice, once off a penalty corner and her second was off a penalty stroke. Brooke Barwick manufactured an insurance goal in the third quarter.

Jones was named the Tournament MVP at the championships site.

The Pacers went undefeated in conference play to secure the No. 1 seed in the conference playoffs.

Preview on the Pacers

Marywood produced the top two goal producers in the Atlantic East in Brooke Barwick and Dariane Jones.
Liv Rosengrant led the Atlantic East in defensive saves with six this season. Rosengrant is third all-time in program history with 10.
Hanna Gardner is tied for second-most defensive saves in the Atlantic East with four this season.
Jones is tied for first in program history for career assists (28).
Bre Marchiano has four shutouts in the cage for the Pacers and posting a .769 save percentage in her rookie campaign.

The Pacers faced Johns Hopkins last season in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, falling 6-0. Jenny Keagy and Sabrina Frazer split time in the cage, making eight saves apiece.
In the Pacers' 2019 NCAA appearance, they lost 1-0 to FDU-Florham on Nov. 13, 2019. Marisa Mongioi had three defensive saves, and Sara Sterchak had a defensive stop. Kerri Mountz made 12 saves.
