Women's Swimming Places Second at Electric City Invitational

Pacers win two individual events

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University women's swimming finished as the runner-up at the Electric City Invitational this weekend. The Pacers finished with 799 points — 41 behind Division II Lock Haven — to take second out of seven teams.

Marywood won four individual events.

Camila Gil won both the 200 IM and 200 breast. In the 200 IM, she came on top with a 2:21.15. Gil beat the competitive by 5.43 seconds. Gil took first in the 200 breast in 2:37.09 with a 6.27-second drop. She was fourth in the 100 breast in 1:13.45, dropping 1.18 seconds off her seed time.

Kylee Koratich was the top swimmer in both the 400 IM and 200 butterfly. Koratich touched the wall first in the 200 butterfly, clocking in at 2:22.98. Her time ranked third all-time in school history. She finished first in the 400 IM with a 5:06.09. She was second in the 100 butterfly in 1:04.64 with a 1.46-second drop.

Aubrey Mangan produced a second-place swim in the 100 breast. She raced to a 1:12.96 performance in 1:12.96 with a 4.78-second drop. Mangan earned third in the 200 breast, dropping 9.17 seconds off her previous season-best. She also came in fourth place in the 200 free with a time of 2:08.61.

Emerson Gellert claimed third place in two individual races. She touched the wall in 1:05.46 in the 100 butterfly and 2:07.6 in the 200 free.

In the 100 back, Tori Sills took off 4.1 seconds to take third place in 1:07.2. Sills was fourth place in the 200 back in 2:30.04. She also notched fifth in the 500 free in 5:52.01.

Molly Englehardt swam to third place in the 1650 free in 19:25.21. She came in fourth in the 500 free in 5:43.39 and sixth in the 100 free in 58.89 seconds.

Earning a pair of fourth-place finishes was Harper Welker. She swam 1:08.67 in the 100 back and 2:30.48 in the 200 IM.

Catelyn Lieser recorded a 58.29-second swim in the 100 free that produced a fourth place finish. She touched the wall in 26.74 seconds for fifth in the 50 free.

Adrianna Howell was fifth in the 1650 free in 20:25.26. She came in sixth in the 500 free with a time of 5:54.83 — 12.35 second drop off her season best.

Saniyah Wiltshire tabbed a sixth place swim in the 200 IM in 2:46.17, and Bridget Torley was sixth in the 200 butterfly in 2:48.34.

Marywood took second place in all four relays.

In the 200 medley relay, Marywood came in second and fourth places. Sills, Mangan, Gil and Izzy Kremer had a time of 1:57.7. The foursome of Wiltshire, Lieser, Torley and Gellert recorded a 2:04.33 finish.

Marywood's 200 free relay was also second place. Lieser, Kremer, Mangan and Englehardt dropped six-plus seconds for 1:45.05.

The Pacers swam to second in the 400 medley relay. Koratich, Gil, Gellert and Englehardt trimmed 14 seconds off their seed time for a 4:22.36 finish.

Marywood's 800 relay of Gellert, Gil, Mangan and Lieser had a 8:35.62 time. The team of Koratich, Howell, Sills and Englehardt came in fourth at 8:48.02.

The Pacers are idle until after the new year. Marywood hosts St. Mary's College of Maryland and Cedar Crest College on Saturday, Jan. 10.
