Fernandez-Naughton, Reed Crack Record Books at Season-Opening Meet

Selinsgrove, Pa. — Marywood University opened its men's and women's indoor track and field season at the Susquehanna University Early Season Multi and Invitational this weekend. It was a non-scoring meet. 

Braelyn Reed began her collegiate career with the third-fastest 60-meter dash time in school history. Reed placed sixth in 8.4 seconds. 

Kalie Fernandez-Naughton had the fourth-best long jump in school history with a distance of 15 feet, 2 inches (4.62m). Fernandez-Naughton finished third place in the event. She was also runner-up in thr triple jump with a mark of 32 feet, 7 inches (9.93m). 

Abby Megotz came in fourth place in the 200 in 28.63 seconds. She was fifth in the 400 in 1:06.79. 

Elizabeth Tomasetti (1:08.42) and Tasiyah Johnson (1:08.48) were seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 400. 

Camilla Zimmerman ran the 800 in 2:38.57 for fifth place.

On the men's side, Kunda Ngoy was fifth place in the 400 in 56.54 seconds. Robert Russo came in sixth in 57.46 seconds. 

Jadyn Sturniolo produced a third-place run in the 800 in 2:04.69. Brody Graff recorded a 2:10.32 for fifth place. 

Daniel Matyjaszek clocked in at 24.58 seconds for seventh place, and Austin Price came in seventh in the 3K at 11:14.48. 

Marywood will compete next in the new year.
