Sprinters, Fernandez-Naughton Move Up Record Book at Cornell

Ithaca, N.Y. — Marywood University continued its men's and women's indoor track and field at Cornell's Kane Invitational on Saturday. There was no team scoring at the meet.

Daniel Matyjasek tied for fourth all-time in the men's 60-meter dash. Matyjaszek came in 11th place with a time of 7.27 seconds, tying Noah Zeigler's time.

In the women's 60 dash, Braelyn Reed ran the second-best time in school history. She crossed the finish in 8.23 seconds to also get 11th place overall.

Kalie Fernandez-Naughton had the fourth best long jump for a Marywood student-athlete. She measured at 15 feet, 7 inches (4.75m) for ninth place overall.

Joseph Cardillo finished in second place overall in the 5K with a time of 15:46.03.

In the shot put, Zach Hoover (11.1m) and Josh Schriver (11.03m) were ninth and tenth place, respectively.

Cyrus Holland, Kunda Ngoy and Jadyn Sturniolo all took 11th place in their respective events. Holland ran a 200 dash time of 23.46 seconds. Kgoy finished the 400 in 54.19 seconds. Sturniolo completed the 800 race in 2:04.27.

Janelle Sanabria was ninth place in the 800, finishing with a time of 2:36.31. Abby Megotz ran a 1:04.64 for 11th place in the 400.

Leah Zambetti came in 12th place in the shot put with a throw of 29 feet, 8 3/4 inches (9.06m).

Marywood competes at Haverford College on Friday.
