New Orleans -- Marywood University placed three individuals and two teams on the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Awards list for the 2024 men's and women's cross country seasons.

Lany Straub received the honor in women's cross country
Cardillo and Ryder received their second career USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards. It is Straub's second time earning the award.
The Marywood women's cross country team tied for the seventh highest GPA in NCAA Division III. The Pacers tied York (Pa.) and trailed only Pomona-Pitzer, Mary Baldwin, Middlebury, Gustavus Adolphus and Calvin.
In order to qualify for the All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
Joseph Cardillo finished in 27th place at the Mid-Atlantic Regional race with a 21:06.7. Ryder was seventh place with a 20:34.7 to earn an at-large berth to the NCAA Championships.
Straub completed the race in 18:02.9 for 27th place.
Winners of the Atlantic East Team Academic Award, the women's cross country team received the award for the 12th time with a 3.85 GPA. Winners of the Atlantic East Team Academic Award, Marywood's men's cross country squad garnered a 3.1 GPA.
Marywood won its fifth consecutive Atlantic East Conference championship in both men's cross country.
