Pacers Oust Cedar Crest, Edged by St. Mary's

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University earned a split in its final home swimming tri-match of the season. At the University of Scranton, the Pacers defeated Cedar Crest on the women's side. The Pacers fell to St. Mary's College of Maryland in both men's and women's.

Marywood had a 186-42 victory over the Falcons. The Pacers were edged by just 14 points in a 135-121 loss to St. Mary's. The Seahawks beat Marywood 207-28 in men's. 

Harper Welker out-touched Liv Macuso by three-tenths of a second for a 100 back victory. Welker won with a time of 1:08.25. Welker also won the 200 back in 2:29.16, dropping 2.45 seconds off her season best. She had season bests in both events.

Camila Gil won the 100 and 200 breast events. Gil took first in the 100 breast in 1:14.48 and earned the win in the 200 breast in 2:41.35. 

Marywood won the 400 medley relay. Kylee Koratich, Gil, Emeson Gellert and Catelyn Lieser touched first in 4:31.98. 

Adrianna Howell recorded a pair of second-place finishes. Howell was the runner-up in the 1,000 free in 12:15.17, dropping 7.48 seconds for a personal best. She swam a 5:59.44 in the 500 free. 

Gellert was third in both the 200 free (2:16.36) and 200 butterfly (2:39.25). 

Tori Sills earned second in the 200 back in 2:38.19. She came in third place in the 100 back in 1:11.53. 

Aubrey Mangan clocked in at 2:54.76 for the runner-up in the 200 breast. Mangan captured third place in the 100 breast in 1:17.13. She turned in a fourth-place finish in the 50 free in 28.32 seconds. 

Lieser was the second to finish in the 50 free in 27.42 seconds. She was fourth in the 100 breast (1:19.55). 

Koratich swam to a 2:32.6 finish in the 200 butterfly that earned second place. She was third in the 200 IM in 2:35.28. 

Bridget Torley had a fifth place swim in the 100 butterfly (1:21.18). 

In the 400 free relay, Howell, Sills, Welker and Mangan were second in 4:19.48. 

On the men's side, Sam O'Sullivan came in fourth place in the 100 back in 1:03.64. Dominic Leone earned third in the 500 free in 6:19.19. 

Alex Corcoran was third place in the 100 free in 53.96 seconds. He added fourth place swims in the 50 free (24.04) and 100 breast (1:10.94). 

Owen Turner swam fifth in the 100 breast at a time of 1:13.34.

Aaron Purdy finished the 200 free in 2:29.39.

Marywood travels to Washington, D.C. to take on Gallaudet University on Saturday, Jan. 17.
