Marywood Claims Nine Team Academic Awards

Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Women's Tennis, Women's Flag Football, Women's Track & Field, and Baseball join three fall winners

Haddonfield, N.J.- Marywood University led the Atlantic East Conference with nine team academic awards during the 2025-26 academic year, officials announced this week. It is the fifth straight year that Marywood has led the Atlantic East.

Men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, women's flag football, women's tennis, and women's track & field earned the highest grade point average in the conference. Women's soccer, field hockey, and men's soccer earned team academic awards in the fall.

The Team Academic honor is awarded to the institution's team that had the top GPA in its respective sport through the semester(s) it played in. The GPA is calculated for each season as follows:
  • Fall Season Teams (WSOC, MSOC, WVB, FH, WXC, MXC): Fall Semester Grades
  • Winter Season Teams (WBB, MBB, WSWIM, MSWIM): Cumulative of Fall and Spring Semester Grades
  • Spring Season Teams (MLAX, WLAX, BB, SB, WFLAG, MT&F, WT&F, MTEN, WTEN): Spring Semester Grades

Women's Tennis earned the highest team GPA among all winter and spring sports with a 3.85 GPA. That mark also ties for the highest team GPA recorded during the academic year, matching the standard set by the Pacers women's cross-country team one year ago. It marks the second consecutive year and third overall that Dana Ciccotti's program has received the honor.

Men's Basketball claimed the Team Academic Award for the third consecutive season. Since the award was established during Marywood's affiliation with the Colonial States Athletic Conference in 2013–14, Men's Basketball has secured a university-best seven Team Academic Awards. The Pacers previously earned CSAC honors in 2013–14, 2014–15 and 2017–18, before adding Atlantic East Conference recognition in 2019–20, 2023–24, and 2024–25. This season, the team posted a 3.44 GPA.

Women's Track & Field collected its fifth Team Academic Award and first since 2023. Fresh off capturing the 2026 Atlantic East Conference Outdoor Track & Field title, the Pacers concluded the academic year with a 3.66 GPA.

Women's Basketball received its third Team Academic Award and earned its first Atlantic East recognition since the 2022–23 campaign. Under the direction of Tara Macciocco, the Pacers recorded a 3.58 GPA.

Women's Flag Football captured its first Team Academic Award in program history after finishing the academic year with a 3.57 GPA.

Baseball rounded out the list of winter and spring honorees by earning its team academic distinction with a 3.44 GPA. The recognition marks the program's first academic honor in four years.

Marywood has 64 Team Academic Awards since 2013-14.

Marywood leaves the Atlantic East with 44 Team Academic Awards since the conference's inception in 2018-19. The Pacers lead Immaculata (35), Gwynedd Mercy (32), Neumann (17), Marymount (14), Cabrini (13), Centenary (4), Cedar Crest (2), Pratt (2), Wesley (1), Manhattanville (1), Gallaudet (1), and Penn State Schuylkill (1).
