Marywood Edged by Scranton in Men's Golf Tri-Match

Mount Cobb, Pa. – The University of Scranton (306) edged out Marywood University (309) in a tri-match Saturday at the Scranton Municipal Golf Course. Marywood only finished three strokes behind Scranton but beat Clark Summit University's 454. It was a tight match with the top spots only separated by a few strokes.

Marywood took the top two spots individually from Michael Thomas and Nicholas Biondi. Thomas shot a 72 (E) for the 15th individual title of his career, and Biondi was only one stroke behind with a 73 (+1). Scranton top the next four spots with Erik Ridley finishing third (74), Kyle Hayes (76) and Michael Boland (77).

Other top finishers for Marywood was James Tressler in seventh and Joe Weber in eighth. Tressler shot an 81, and Weber hit an 83. Austin Zehel was Marywood's fifth top ten finisher taking the 10th spot with an 85.

Marywood will have a chance at redemption as it will face The University of Scranton again on Wednesday at the Glenmaura National Country Club.
