Scranton, Pa. —Marywood University fell to University of Rio Grande (Ohio) 2-0 in the League of Legends series. The Pacers fall to 0-2 on the season in League of Legends.
The first match draws itself into a 36-minute slugfest between both squads. The Pacers used an unorthodox team composition to hide the disadvantage of their substitute; once the end game drew near, the more stable Rio Grande team were able to fight its way into stealing the first round away.
During the second round, Rio Grande was able to take advantage of the Pacers sub, carrying the momentum it gained from the first round. This gave them the advantage of denying the Pacers of any team map presence, leading them into a quick loss.
The Pacers will be looking to bounce back in week three against the University of North Alabama.
Starting Lineup for the match: Mackenzie Blithe (SarcChan), Madeline Redican (QueenBlueBell), Larry Kendricks (K3Z3), Joseph Sanfilippo (K0184), and Cameron Gorman (LongTreeMan)
