Esports Suffers First Loss in Overwatch Series

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University esports suffered its first Overwatch loss in a 3-0 sweep to Centre College on Tuesday. The Pacers fall to 2-1 on the season, and Centre moves to the top of the table with an undefeated record.

Centre came out strong and maintained the momentum throughout the evening. After a close first point on Lijiang Tower, they used a clever Symmetra play to ultimately win the map.

On Blizzard World, a stout defense and a smart flank led to a quick victory for Centre. With the final map of the night, Havana, the Pacers couldn't get past the pressure of Centre's shield comp, allowing them to pull through with the sweep.

The Pacers took home a win by forfeit against Queens University (Ont.) in Rocket League.

The Pacers will face off against University of North Alabama on Friday in League of Legends.
