Men's Golf Splits with Scranton, Misericordia in Season Opener

Tunkhannock, Pa. - Marywood University's men's golf team split with the University of Scranton and Misericordia in their spring opener Saturday afternoon at Stone Hedge Golf Couse in Tunkhannock. The Royals won both matches with a team score of 312 while Marywood scored a 326 to beat Misericordia (378).

Eddie McGreevy and Landon Firmstone led the Pacers after they both shot an eight-over-par 79 on the par 71, 6,644 yard course.

Scranton's Matt Fleming and Ethan Zawatski tied for medalist honors after rounds of 77. The Royals also had Tom McAuliffe and Calvin Ralph tie with McGreevy and Firmstone after rounds of 79.

Misericordia's low round came from Ryan Gilgallon, who shot an 88.

Ben Williams shot and 82 for Marywood while Evan Tremback shot an 86. Luke Flederbach rounded out Marywood's team scoring with a 98. Matt Lombardi, who played as an individual, shot a 93.

Marywood is back on the course Monday as they travel to Annville for the Lebanon Valley College Spring Invitational.
