Haines Earns USTFCCCA All-Mideast Region in Two Events

Haines ran the fastest regional time in the 1,500

New Orleans, La. - Marywood University senior David Haines was selected U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Mideast Region in a pair of outdoor events. Haines captures the fifth and sixth USTFCCCA All-Mideast Region awards in the program's short history.

The Top 5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.

Haines had the fastest 1,500 time in the Mideast Region. His record-breaking run of 3:51.16 was 1.68 seconds ahead of any other regional competitor. At the Johns Hopkins Last Chance Meet, Haines completed the 23rd fastest time in NCAA Division III.

In the 5K, Haines received the award with the fourth-fastest time in the Mideast Region. Haines ran a 14:39.1 at the AARTFC Championships. He ranked 31st on the NCAA Division III performance list.

Haines won seven events to complement four individual Atlantic East Conference gold medals this season.

Previously, Marywood has received USTFCCCA All-Mideast Region awards from Ryan Atcavage (pole vault/decathlon, 2019); Jaden Rhoden (triple jump, 2019), and Tyler Shotto (decathlon, 2017).
