Gomez, Russo Receive CSC Academic All-District Honors

Greenwood, Ind. — Men's Soccer players Danny Gomez and Alex Russo were both named to the 2023 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team, announced on Tuesday.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Gomez had 16 points on the season, tallying six goals and three assists.

Russo recorded 51 saves and five shutouts on the year. 

By making the All-District team, the selections will be forwarded onto the national ballot to try for CSC Academic All-America accolades.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve.
