Marywood Places Five on All-AEC Teams

The Pacers have the highest representation in their AEC history

Haddonfield, N.J. -- Marywood University placed five student-athletes on All-Atlantic East Conference team, officials announced Wednesday. It is the most Pacers to make an all-conference team in the Atlantic East's eight-year history.

Drew Smith, Jack Forbes and Owen Clearwaters were selected to the Atlantic East First Team. Defenders Alex Visha and Jayce Wilson earned a nod on the AEC's Second Team.

Smith anchored a defense that held opponents to 1.94 goals per game. In conference play, the Pacers defense limited offenses to 0.71 goals per game. As the Atlantic East Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 27, Smith had three goals and an assist for seven points. It is his second All-Conference honor of his career. Smith was named All-Atlantic East Second Team in 2024.

In the conference, Forbes ranked eighth in assists (three) and 11th in goals (four) and points (11). He was twice named to the Atlantic East Weekly Honor Roll on Sept. 1 and Oct. 13. Forbes scored twice in a 3-2 win over Wilkes and had a pair of assists versus Pratt. It is his first all-conference honor.

Clearwaters was named to the First Team in spite of a season-ending injury that kept him out of the final five games. He scored seven goals on the campaign, ranking fifth in the Atlantic East. Clearwaters averaged 1.08 points per game to rank third in the conference. He was the Atlantic East leader in game-winning goals per game (.231). It is Clearwaters' first all-conference laurel.

Both Visha and Wilson contributed to the stifling Pacers' defensive unit that handcuffed opponents to 1.94 overall goals and 0.71 conference goals per game. Visha tied for eighth in the conference with three assists, and Wilson was in the starting XI for 11 games. It is both Visha and Wilson's second all-AEC honors, adding to a First Team nods in 2024.
