Meighan Tabbed Rookie of the Year; Five Named All-Conference

Lancaster, Pa. — The Atlantic East Conference announced the 2023 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference teams on Wednesday, as Marywood University and Cabrini University scooped up the major awards. Freshman Avery Meighan claimed the Rookie of the Year accolade.

Cabrini's Olivia Little and Caroline Gallagher were named Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively.

Meighan finished her freshman campaign with 79 points on 57 goals and 22 assists. She also added 141 draw controls and 55 ground balls and led the team with six game winning goals. She was a stellar force on both the offensive and defensive ends. She was named the Conference Defensive Player of the Week (2/27) and was named to the Weekly Honor Roll (3/27). In addition to her Rookie of the Year award, Meighan was placed the All-Conference First Team. 

Emma Solomon was named First Team All-Conference for the second time in her career. She finished her career with 109 goals and 39 assists, also adding 133 ground balls and 50 draw controls. 

Freshman Kaitlyn Smith joins her teammates on First Team All-Conference. She was awarded Conference Weekly Honor Roll (3/20, 4/11) and Atlantic East Player of the Week (4/24). Smith finishes her first year campaign with 61 goals and 22 assists. Smith also collected 32 ground balls and 102 draw controls.

Alaina Brenneman was award First Team All-Conference for her efforts on the defensive end. Brenneman collected Second Team All-Conference Honors in the 2021 campaign. She finished her career with 38 goals and 23 assists. Brenneman also scooped up 90 ground balls, 91 draw controls, and had 59 caused turn overs. 

Goalkeeper Emily Dyminski, collected her first All-Conference First-Team award of her career, after being named Second Team All-Conference in the 2021 and 2022 campaign. Dyminski leads Division III with a .599 save percentage for the 2023 season. She finished her career with 417 saves and a .523 save percentage.
