Philadelphia — Jack Baronski and John Russo joined the Marywood University men's track and field record book on Saturday at the Widener Winter's Evening Invite. The meet was held at the University of Pennsylvania.
Jack Baronski placed third in the 3,000 meter race with a time of 8:37.63. Baronski now has the second fastest 3,000 meter time in program history.
Baronski was followed by Joseph Cardillo and Thomas Lee who placed 15 and 19 respectively. Cardillo ran an 8:54.08 and Lee ran an 8:57.09.
John Russo became the sixth fastest runner in program history for the 800 meter race with a time of 2.01.39.
Russo followed close behind Raidan Francis who finished 17th with a time of 2:00.81 which is only four hundredths of a second behind his best time.
Will Canney ran a 16:20.26 5000 meter race securing him the 10th place spot. James Mondrovsky finished in 20th less than a minute later with a time of 17:04.39.
The team will head to Ithaca, N.Y. this Saturday, 2/1, to compete against Ithaca College, and Boston, MA this Sunday, 2/2, to compete against Boston University.
