Francis Breaks 600-Meter Record at Cornell

Ithaca, N.Y. — Marywood University sophomore Raidan Francis broke the men's 600-meter school record at Cornell University. Both the Pacers' men's and women's track and field teams competed at Cornell each of the past two weekends.

Francis won the 600-meter race to set a new school mark of 1:25.54. He broke Michael Kelly's three-year record by 1.13 seconds.

It was Francis' second consecutive appearance in the record books. He notched the fourth-best time in the 800 with a 2:00.1. Francis completed the race in 11th.

Teammate Jack Baronski recorded the second-best 800 time with a 1:59.22. He finished seventh in the race.

John Russo came in sixth place in the 500 to sit fourth all-time at Marywood. He clocked in with a time of 1:10.75.

KC Nwokedi recorded the second-best weight throw, hitting a distance of 12.86 meters.

In the women's races, Abby Megotz tied for fifth all-time in the 60-meter dash. Megotz sprinted to an 8.59-second finish to tie Caitlin Mills' mark.

Rosalyn Page was fifth in the shot put with a distance of 40 feet, 6 3/4 inches (12.36m).

The women's 4x400 relay came in seventh place. The team of Megotz, Lany Straub, Abby Adamsky and Kalie Fernandez-Naughton recorded a time of 4:38.26.
