Straub Breaks Record to Lead Pacers at Widener

Francis runs a PR to move to third in the 800

Chester, Pa. — Senior Lany Straub broke the Marywood University women's track and field record in the 1,500 at Widener University's Danny Curran Invitational. The Pacers recorded five Top 5 finishes in its record books. 

Straub ran a 4:51.15 to break a seven-year old record in the 1,500. She completed the course in 13th place. Her time broke Bre Latourette's 2018 record by 3.14 seconds. 

She also recorded the fifth-fastest 800 time at Marywood. She came in 2:29.35 for 32nd place overall. Straub broke her PR by nine seconds. 

On the men's side, Jack Baronski came in sixth overall in the 5K. His time of 14:43.47 moves him to No. 2 in the Marywood record book. 

Raidan Francis finished third all-time in the 800. He raced to an 1:58.44 finish for 26th place. 

AJ Rosenfeld ran the fifth-best 3K steeplechase time in Marywood history. He came in 20th place at 11:11.07. 

Marywood competes at Misericordia University on Friday.
