Men's Soccer Notches Fourth in Atlantic East Coach's Preseason Poll

Returns three all-conference honorees

Haddonfield. N.J. – The Atlantic East Conference released the Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll Thursday. Marywood University was tabbed fourth overall. 

The Pacers finished fourth in the poll with 32 points. The Pacer will look to three returning All-AEC defensive players, Alex Visha, Jayce Wilson, and Drew Smith

Marymount University was selected to win the Atlantic East Championship in Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The Saints received four first place votes and 46 overall points. The Neumann Knights were just behind with three of the remaining first place votes and 45 total points. Immaculata collected the final first place vote and landed third with 35 points. 

Marymount returns the reigning Atlantic East Conference Rookie of the Year, Jefferson Lopez Coreas and fellow All-AEC first team honoree Erick Shoetter-Rojas. The Saints finished 2024 with the highest scoring average in the conference and will look to use that to return to the conference championship game. 

Neumann has won back to back conference titles and returns the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year, Dominic Petruzzelli. Teammates Carter Gorczyca, Zion Atta-Krah, Luke Mejia, and Jackson Laznik all return to the lineup after receiving All-AEC recognition a season ago. 

Immaculata will look to new head coach Rob Dallas after a semifinal appearance a season ago. The Mighty Macs Alex Corsones returns to the defensive side of the ball after a strong 2024 earning All-AEC second team honors. 

Fifth in the polls went to Saint Elizabeth with 20 points, while Centenary finished just behind with 19 points for sixth. Closing out the polls was Gwynedd Mercy with 15 points and Pratt with 12 points. 
Teams kick off regular season play on Friday, August 29th. Conference play begins on October 4th with Gwynedd Mercy hosting Saint Elizabeth, Immaculata hosting Centenary, Marymount hosting Pratt and Neumann hosting Marywood. 

The 2025 Atlantic East Tournament is set to begin with a first round game on Saturday, November 1st. The semifinals will take place on Tuesday, November 4th and the championship on Saturday, November 8th.
