Men's Track and Field Opens Outdoor Season at King's

Wilkes-Barre Twp., Pa. — Marywood University men's track and field opened its outdoor season at the King's College Monarch Invite on Saturday. The Pacers won six individual events.

Daniel Matyjaszek won the 100 and 200 dashes. He won the 100 in 11.4 seconds and the 200 in 24.12 seconds. Cyrus Holland finished behind him in second (100, 11.55) and third (200, 24.26).

Kunda Ngoy took first in the 400 with a time of 53.94 seconds.

Marywood took the top four spots in the 5K. Ethan WIlliams (17:22), Jacob Walsh (17:37), Henry Soto-Reyes (18:12) and Jadyn Sturniolo (19:12) led the way for the Pacers.

Austin Price (800, 2:15.83) and Raidan Francis (1500, 4:21.64) were runner-ups in the 800 and 1500, respectively.

The Pacers swept both relay events. The 4x100 team of Holland, Matyjaszek, Ngoy and Robert Russo finished in 45.59 seconds. The 4x400 relay of Russo, Francis, Brody Grass and Ngoy checked in at 3:57.93.

In other events, Josh Schriver was fifth in the shot put in 33 feet, 1 1/4 inches (10.09m). AJ Rosenfeld was fourth in the javelin at 135 feet, 9 inches (41.38m).

Marywood competes at Widener this weekend.
