Men's Track Impresses at York Twilight

Shilo Bivins narrowly misses record in first collegiate meet

York, Pa. — The Marywood University men's track and field team came in 12th place out of 15 schools at the York College Twilight Meet on Wednesday. The Pacers matched up against several of the Middle Atlantic Conference opponents they will face next season.

The Pacers finished with 17 points. Dickinson College defeated Saint Francis University by nine points for the top spot.

Shilo Bivins finished in second place in the high jump in his first-ever collegiate meet. Bivins cleared 6 feet, 2 3/4 inches (1.9m), missing the school record by just two-hundredths of a meter. Bivins came in eighth place in the long jump with a distance of 20 feet, 7 inches (6.27m).

Daniel Matyjaszek raced to a ninth place finish in the 100 dash. His 11.16-second finish placed him on the school record books in fifth.

Josh Schriver recorded the third-longest discus throw in school history. Schriver heaved a discus 124 feet (37.8m) for 14th place.

The Marywood 4x800 relay of Jadyn Sturniolo, Austin Price, Ethan Williams and Brody Graff came in third place in 8:44.85. The Pacers' 4x100 relay of Cyrus Holland, Kunda Ngoy, Robert Russo and Daniel Matyjaszek were seventh place in 44.17 seconds.

In the javelin, AJ Rosenfeld hit a throw of 148 feet, 3 inches (45.19m) for 17th place. Logan Smith was 21st with a toss of 133 feet, 7 inches (40.72m).

Zach Hoover provided an 18th place finish in the shot put with a mark of 37 feet, 1 inch (11.3m).

Marywood will travel to West Chester University of Pennsylvania on April 10-11.
