Five Pacers Honored on All-Atlantic East Field Hockey Teams

All five Pacers make first appearance on all-conference teams

fifthLancaster, Pa. — Marywood University had five student-athletes placed on the All-Atlantic East Conference field hockey teams. Julie Trott's squad featured three Pacers on the First Team and a pair on the Second Team. 

Senior back Lauren Smith, freshman midfielder Corrin Hasty and freshman forward Lauren Youngken were named to the First Team. Freshman midfielder Cassie Slusser and sophomore midfielder Cydney Lahr were selected to the Second Team. 

Smith helped the Pacers' defense hold opponents to 1.95 goals per game. She converted one of two penalty strokes for her lone goal of the season. Hasty added a pair of goals for four points. Youngken ranked fifth in the Atlantic East in goals (nine), assists (six) and points (24). 

Slusser tallied two goals and an assist for five points. Lahr led the Pacers in goals (10) and points (25). She ranked third in the Atlantic East in both categories. 

It marks the first all-conference selected for all five Pacers, of whom four competed in their first collegiate season. 

Marywood finished its 2021 campaign with a 10-10 overall record. The Pacers reached the Atlantic East semifinals and qualified for the ECAC playoffs.
