Pacers Take Sixth Overall, Third Among DIII Teams at Lock Haven

Michael McCann finishes 19th of 290 runners

Lock Haven, Pa. — Marywood University was sixth out of 34 men's cross country teams Saturday at the Lock Haven University Invitational. The Pacers finished with 217 points for an average 8K time of 26:05.

Marywood was third place among Division III teams in competition. The Pacers were behind perennial powerhouses Dickinson College (third) and Messiah College (fourth). Cornell won the team title with 20 points, ahead of Division II's Wayne State (Mich.) and Slippery Rock.

Marywood had five times rank in the Top 50 in the record book. Six Pacers recorded PRs.

Michael McCann finished 19^th out of 290 runners in the Crimson race. McCann finished with a time of 25:07 that ranks fourth in the Marywood record books.

Among Marywood PRs was Jack Baronski in 29th place. He clocked in at 25:26 for the sixth best time in a Pacers kit. He dropped 56 seconds off of his PR.

Three runners finished within five seconds of each other. Thomas Lee dropped 1:10 off his time to take 76^th place with a 26:35 performance. Joseph Cardillo crossed the finish in 78^th place at a time of 26:38. Bryce Rider made his 8K debut in 26:40 for 79th place. Together, they recorded the 20th, 23^rd and 24^th fastest times in school history, respectively.

Ian Kovatch dropped 35 seconds off his personal best to finish with a time of 27:22 Caleb Bakalyar ran a 27:41 to round out the Pacers' scorers.

Josh Godlewski shaved 1:04 off his previous best for a 28:17 run. Ricky Stains III produced a drop of 1:57 for a 29:38 time that was 75^th in the white race

Thomas O'Keefe took off 1:06 off his best time for a 31:56 finish.

Marywood is idle until Saturday, Oct. 15 at Rowan University.
