Trott, Bevans Receive NFHCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year

Marywood shares the top coaching honor with Rowan

Colorado Springs, Colo. — Marywood University earned the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Region IV Coaching Staff of the Year, officials announced Friday. Head coach Julie Trott and assistant coach Kaitlyn Bevans captured the first regional coaching staff award in program history.

Marywood shared the Coaching Staff of the Year award with Rowan University.

Under their leadership, Trott and Bevans led the Pacers to their second Atlantic East Conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance. Marywood had three NFHCA All-Region awardees — Cydney Lahr, Maria Tomada, Dariane Jones — for the first time in program history

Marywood finished the season ranked in the top 20 nationally in five categories: penalty corners per game (7th, 12.15); goals per game (9th, 3.81); scoring average (11th, 3.77); points per game (12th, 9.62); and scoring margin (18th, 2.12).

The Pacers broke the school record with 80 goals on the season. Marywood finished the season with a 14-7 overall record. It defeated Immaculata University in the Atlantic East Championship and fell to Johns Hopkins University in the NCAA Division III First Round.

It marks the third Regional Coach of the Year in Marywood Athletics history. Marywood previously won a U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coach of the Year regional awards in women's cross country (2013) and men's cross country (2023).
