Baronski Breaks 800 Record at Ship

Shippensburg, Pa. — Marywood University junior Jack Baronski broke the 800-meter school record on Saturday at Shippensburg University's Paul Kaiser Classic. The Pacers competed in their final regular season meet before the Atlantic East Conference championships.

Baronski ran a 1:57.78 to finish in 18th place overall. He beat David Haines' 2021 record by 62-hundredths of a second.

Baronski took ninth place in the 1,500, finishing in a time of 4:04.72. Thomas Lee and Raidan Francis were 16th and 17th places, respectively. Lee clocked in at 4:10.81, and Francis crossed the finish in 4:12.73.

Nolan Kozera finished 12th place in the 100 dash in 11.32 seconds.

Ben Devine placed fourth in the 5K with a time of 15:20.62. Joseph Cardillo clocked in at 15:30.29 for sixth place.

Abby Megotz was 19th place in the 400 in 1:03.41. Hayley Gaines took 20th place in 2:29.13 in the 800.

In the 1,500, Lany Straub ran a 5:07.7 for 16th place.

Kaitlyn Newberry ran the 5K in 21:13-flat for 11th place, and Gabby Snee had a 14:03.5 performance in the 3K Steeplechase for 10th.

Marywood will compete at the Atlantic East Conference championships next weekend at Gwynedd Mercy University.
