Stinchfield Named Cross Country and Track and Field Coach

Scranton, Pa. — Cameron Stinchfield was named the Marywood University cross country and track and field head coach, Director of Athletics and Recreation Andrew Smith announced Tuesday. Stinchfield will head both the men's and women's programs.

Stinchfield previously served as a cross country and track and field graduate assistant coach at Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J. for the past two seasons.

"Cameron's passion and understanding of the Division III experience and for student-athlete development was evident from the start of the search process to the entire search committee," said Assistant Director of Athletics and Recreation Julie Trott, head of the search committee. "His experience with all facets of both cross country and track and field programs, coupled with a clear vision for our programs, makes Cameron a great fit to lead our cross country and track and field teams."

He wrote and conducted all distance workouts for the Knights' women's and men's track and field teams. Stinchfield coached all of his student-athletes to multiple PRs, often running lifetime best every time they stepped on the track. He also helped recruiting efforts and managed team inventories.

Stinchfield was a three-sport student-athlete at Division III Keene State in New Hampshire. At the Little East Conference championships, he finished ninth in cross country (8K) and ninth in outdoor track and field (800). As a swimmer, Stinchfield finished in seventh, eighth and 10th at the NEISDA Championships in the 1000 free, 1650 free and 500 free events.

A native of Wakefield, N.H., Stinchfield received his bachelor's degree in history from Keene State College. He earned a master's in sports management and administration with a focus in coaching leadership.

Stinchfield resides in Dickson City, and he is an avid fisher and cyclist.
