Hasty Named CSC Academic All-American At-Large

Field Hockey senior becomes the first Marywood student-athlete to be named Academic All-American in an at-large sport

Austin, Texas — Senior Corrin Hasty became Marywood University's first Academic All-American in an at-large sport, officials announced Tuesday. The field hockey senior was selected to the College Sports Communicators Division III Academic All-American Third Team in the Women's At-Large category.

Voted by sports information directors throughout the nation, Hasty was one of eight field hockey student-athletes on NCAA Division III's most prestigious standout team for performance on the field and in the classroom. She joined recipients representing Middlebury College, Tufts University, Salisbury University, Shenandoah University, SUNY Cortland, York College of Pennsylvania, and Johns Hopkins University.

The 2024-25 CSC Academic All-America Women's At-Large teams comprised of the nation's top student-athletes participating in field hockey, fencing, golf, lacrosse, water polo, ice hockey, gymnastics and crew/rowing.

The Division III at-large teams honored 45 student-athletes with eight members of the first team holding perfect GPAs either as an undergraduate or a graduate student. Hasty was one of 19 members have 4.00 GPAs.

Joining women's soccer's Josie Sorce, Hasty becomes one of two Pacers to be named Academic All-American in the 2024-25 academic year — a first at Marywood. She becomes just the fourth individual and fifth overall selection in Marywood athletics history. Both Hasty and Sorce are the first non-softball Marywood student-athletes to receive an Academic All-American laurel.

A senior criminal justice and Spanish double major, the South Berwick, Maine native won the Joey Monaghan Award for Leadership & Service and MB Salmon Award for Dedication at Marywood in 2024-25. She was a two-time Atlantic East Elite 20 Winner for the highest GPA in the conference. Hasty was named the Tournament Most Valuable Player in leading the Pacers to an Atlantic East Conference championship in the fall.

Hasty is a three-time First Team All-Atlantic East in 2021, 2022, and 2024. Additionally, she was Second Team All-AEC in 2023. She was a two-time member of the NFHCA Division III Preseason Watch List.

In her senior year, Hasty scored four goals and two assists for 10 points as a center-back defender. She was a perfect 4 for 4 on penalty strokes.

In the classroom, Hasty was the Chi Alpha Sigma senior medalist. In addition to her double major, she minored in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies, and earned an M.S. in Criminal Justice. Hasty was an NFHCA Scholar of Distinction.

Additionally, Hasty interned for the Students Together Achieving Remarkable Success, helping low-income, diverse youth students in Scranton. She was the SAAC President (24-25) and Vice-President (23-24).

Hasty organized participation for two Special Olympics Polar Plunge benefits, raising over $3,000. Hasty served as the NCAA Small Talk podcast subject. She previously worked as a Wells (Maine) Reserve Police Officer.

She joins Erika Cook (2008, Third Team); Meghin Palmer (2012, First Team; 2013, Third Team); Emma McNally (2024, Second Team) and Sorce (2024, Third Team) as the only Marywood student-athletes to receive All-Academic American status.

The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division III Academic All-America® program.
