Page, Hamidi Continue Record-Breaking Success; Pacers Finish Fourth at Moravian

Bethlehem, Pa. — Marywood University set a pair of women's track and field school records this weekend at Moravian University's Coach Pollard Invitational. The Pacers also set a school record at the Bucknell Open the week prior.
 
Marywood finished in tied for fourth place out of 11 teams. The Pacers matched Muhlenberg College with 47 points.
 
Rosalyn Page won an event and broke a school record for the third consecutive meet. Page was third place in the discus with a throw that measured at 128 feet, 4 inches (39.12m). Her distance ranked sixth in the region. Page won the shot put at a distance of 38 feet, 11 ½ inches (11.87m).
 
Maryam Hamidi set a new school record in the 400. Hamidi took third place in the race with a time of 1:00.81. Her time tops the Atlantic East performance list and ranks ninth in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Hamidi ran a season-best 13.36 seconds in the 100 dash for 10th place, earning the No. 2 time in the conference.
 
Awnshae Smith had a trio of season-bests to catapult her on the Atlantic East Conference performance list. Smith ran the No. 2 time in Marywood history with a fourth-place finish in the 100 hurdles. Her 16.59-second finals time ranks 15th in the Mid-Atlantic Region and second in the Atlantic East. Smith took fifth place in the triple jump with a conference-best distance of 34-11.75 (10.66m) that also ranks 15th regionally. She also secured the AEC's top high jump mark of 4 feet, 9 inches (1.45m) for sixth place.
 
Madi Howell continued to progress in her senior campaign with three PRs. She took 10th in the 100 hurdles for the program's fourth-best time. She came in 17.14 seconds to secure the fourth and 30th best runs in the conference and region, respectively. Howell was 12th in the 800 for a PR of 2:36.58 that also stands as the third-best AEC time this season. Howell finished 16th in the 200, clocking in at 29.05 seconds for the fifth time in the conference.
 
In distance events, Milana Straub dropped another two seconds off her best time to rank No. 2 at Marywood. Her run of 19:02 is the top in the AEC and 39th in the region.
 
Molly Repecki won the 10K race in 44:10.
 
Senior Chesna Andrade-Foster dropped 86-hundredths of a second off her 400 PR for a sixth place run of 1:04.37. It puts her fifth place in both the school record books and conference.
 
Caitlin Mills captured the fourth-best long jump for a Marywood student-athlete. She landed in 15 feet, 10 ¼ inches (4.83m) to place fourth in the record book. Mills is third in the conference and 35th in the region.
 
Other notable performances included:
  • The 4x100 team of Awnshae Smith, Caitlin Mills, Chesna Andrade-Foster and Maryam Hamidi were fourth place in 51.96 seconds. They rank second in the Atlantic East.
  • Gabby Snee cut 16 seconds off her 5K to register a 20:50 for the third-best time in the AEC. Alyssa Williams followed in pursuit with a 20:55 that was a five-second drop and fourth in the conference.
  • Emma Wagner dropped her 100 hurdles PR by 77 hundredths of a second to take 18th place in 19.06 seconds.
  • Brianna Roth ran her best non-wind-aided triple jump of 31-8.75 (9.67m). Her eighth-place jump is second in the Atlantic East and 47th in the region. She was also eighth in the high jump.
  • Caitlyn Powell ran a pair of PRs. She took off five seconds in the 1500 in 5:36.18. Powell ran two seconds better in the 800 at 2:47.27.
  • Daelyn Karboski beat her long jump PR by three-fourth of an inch. She stretched to 14 feet, 11 ½ inches (4.56m) for the fifth-best distance in the conference.
Hayley Gaines set a school record (2:23.43) in the 800 at Bucknell the week prior.
 
Marywood will head to King's College next weekend to round out the regular season.
