Women's Swimming Finishes Third at AECs; Men Take Fourth Overall

St. Mary's City, Md. -- Marywood University women's swimming finished third at the Atlantic East Conference Swimming Championships this weekend. The Pacers' men took fourth overall.

It marks the Pacers' best conference finish in Atlantic East history.

In the women's standings, Marywood had 451 points, beating Immaculata University by 31 points. The Pacers had 264 points on the men's side, defeating Gallaudet University by 227 points.

Aubrey Mangan capped her final Atlantic East championships with a fourth-place finish in the 200 breast. Mangan swam 1.11 seconds faster in finals for a 2:38.21.

Samantha Peck swam to a fourth-place finish in the 200 butterfly in 2:26.42. She improved her prelim time by 4.04 seconds. Peck was fifth in the 1650 free with a mark of 20:22.31.

Tori Sills came in fifth place in the women's 200 backstroke in 2:26.7. Sills dropped 2.86 seconds off her prelim time.

Alex McCarey matched Sills' 200 back swim on the men's side. McCarey touched the wall in 2:09.48.

Alex Corcoran came through with a 52.57-second finish for eighth place in the men's 100 free.

Marywood received points from Catelyn Lieser in the 200 breast. Lieser provided a 2:46.84 for seventh place.

Nathan Grosvenor completed his Marywood career with a seventh place swim in the 200 breast. Grosvenor clocked in at 2:24.12.

Freshman Paige Paffenroth swam to a 20:54.55 finish for sixth place in the 1650 free.

In the 400 free relay, the women's team of Emerson Gellert, Kendra Musselman, Lieser and Peck registered a 3:56.21 for fourth place.
