New Faces Pace Marywood at Misericordia

Mason Mendygral, Brandon Reed lead Atlantic East performance lists

Dallas, Pa. — Marywood University welcomed new faces to the track and field lineup at the Misericordia Twilight meet over the weekend. 

Brandon Reed recorded the second-longest long jump in school history in his track and field debut. Reed hit the 22 feet, 1/4 inch mark (6.71) to take sixth place overall. He ranks first in the Atlantic East. 

Alli Griscavage posted the fourth-best discus throw at Marywood. Griscavage took 11th place with a mark of 98 feet, 4 inches (29.97m). 

Leah Zambetti improved her discus throw to 108 feet, 11 inches (33.21m) to move into second all-time at Marywood. She took seventh overall. Zambetti won the javelin with a throw of 113 feet, 2 inches (34.49m). 

Rosalyn Page had a second-place finish and a fifth place performance with conference-best throws. She was runner-up in the discus at 122 feet, 2 inches (37.24m) and garnered fifth in the shot put at 37 feet, 5 3/4 inches (11.42m). 

Lany Straub won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a conference-best 11:29.35. Straub qualified for the AARTFC regionals with her run. 

Bella Auchenbach completed the 10K in 44:27.1 for first place. Paige Redman and Cassandra Juliano were sixth and eighth place in the 5K, respectively. 

Abby Megotz came in fifth in the 100 dash at 13.65 seconds and sixth in the 200 dash at 27.41 seconds. 

Will Kalinich was fifth place with a javelin throw of 138 feet, 3 inches (42.14m). Josh Schriver took ninth in the discus at 116 feet (35.35m). KC Nwokedi earned seventh in the shot put at a conference-best 39 feet, 10 3/4 inches (12.16m). 

Newcomer Mason Mendygral cleared 5 feet, 9 3/4 inches (1.77m) in the high jump. His mark leads the Atlantic East.

John Russo was the runner-up in the 400 in 52.04 seconds. 

The men's 4x400 relay of John Russo, Raidan Francis, Brody Graff and Joseph Burke were runner-ups with a 3:30.31. Their time leads the Atlantic East by six seconds.

AJ Rosenfeld came in sixth place in the 400 hurdles in 1:08.21. 

The Pacers took the second through eighth spots in the 10K. Wil Canney led the charge with a conference-best 34:45.63. 

Burke placed fourth in the 800 at 2:02.47.

Marywood heads to Bucknell University this weekend.
