Lee, Zieger and Peck Lead Pacers to Fourth-Place Finishes at AEC Championships

St. Mary's City, Md. — Both the Marywood University men's and women's swimming teams finished in fourth place overall this weekend at the Atlantic East Conference Championships, hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland. The Pacers' women had 396 points to finish out of seven teams, and Marywood tallied 385 points on the men's side out of six teams.

Both the Cabrini men and St. Mary's women repeated as champions.
 
Zieger, Peck nab silvers
 
Sabrina Zieger collected her second silver medal of the competition. Zieger finished the 1,650 free in 19:40.66 to take second place.
 
After a finals DQ on Saturday, Samantha Peck bounced back to garner second place in the 200 butterfly. She overcame a slow start to outpace Marymount's Isabella Ochalick down the stretch for a 2:23.66 finish. Teammate Molly O'Neill dropped five seconds off her prelim time to take fifth place with a 2:35.29.
 
Former Atlantic East champion Mackenzie Blithe was fifth in the 1,650 free, touching the wall in 20:37.7.
 
A pair of Marywood swimmers were fifth and sixth in the 100 free. Olivia Fryer was fifth in 58.47 seconds, and Elise Shore posted a prelim time of 58.85 seconds.
 
Marywood captured fourth place in the 400 free relay. Zieger, Hannah Darmofal, Fryer and Shore swam a time of 3:56.85.
 
Lee secures spot near the top
 
Marywood received a silver medal showing from Jason Lee in the 200 breast. Lee clocked in at 2:18.06. He dropped 4.32 seconds off his preliminary time and 10 seconds off his season best. Trailing him, Nathan Grosvenor was third with a prelim time of 2:32.07.
 
Dylan Hervieux closed his first Atlantic East Championships with a fourth-place finish in the 200 back. Hervieux registered a time of 2:03.71.
 
The Pacers also had a fourth-place swim in the 200 butterfly. Slish clocked in at 2:10.45, earning a drop of nearly two seconds.
 
Cameron Gorman secured sixth in the 100 free in 50.42 seconds. Gorman cut 97-hundredths of a seconds off his prelim time in finals.
 
Dan Shannon reached the podium in his final collegiate meet, taking sixth in the 1650 with a time of 20:18.67.
 
The 400 free relay of Gorman, Grosvenor, Slish and Hervieux came in fourth place in 3:27.61.
