Albert Stroble `99, of Collegeville, was a former three-sport athlete that exceled in men’s tennis. Stroble also participated in cross country and soccer for the Pacers.
 
Stroble was the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Individual Champion in 1997, 1998 and 1999 while guiding the men’s tennis team to Marywood’s first-ever men’s sport Conference Championship in 1998.  Of note, Stroble went unbeaten in conference singles play in both 1998 and 1999.
 
Stroble earned First Team singles honors from the PAC in 1997, 1998 and 1999, and was on the Conference’s Academic Honor Roll in both 1998 and 1999. The team MVP in both 1997 and 1999, Stroble was a three-year team captain for the men’s tennis program (1997-99).
 
He held a career singles record of 45-27, and was 29-5 in conference play. Stroble holds a career conference doubles record of 18-7, giving him an overall conference mark of 47-12.  His 73 career wins in singles and doubles ranked him first all-time in men’s tennis program history at the time of his graduation and well beyond.
 
Outside of tennis, Stroble also made a name for himself as a cross country runner and men’s soccer player.  On the pitch, Stroble was a goalkeeper and named the men’s soccer team co-MVP in 1998. He set the school record for saves in a season (285, 1998) and in a game (35).  His 285 saves is a season is still the program record, while his 35 saves versus King’s ranks fourth all-time in NCAA history.
 
Stroble’s 19 saves per game average in 1998 was the highest in Division III that year and currently ranks third all-time in NCAA history. His 285 saves in the season was also the highest in Division III that year and currently ranks fifth all-time in NCAA history.
 
Stroble earned a M.Ed. in Sport and Recreation Administration from Temple University in 2001.  He is a 1999 Marywood graduate with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education.  For many years Stroble served as Associate Director of Athletics at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia (2007-2016), where he also served as the men’s and women’s tennis coach for the Division II institution.
 
During his time as coach at Chestnut Hill, Stroble was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year five times and was also an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Coach of the Year.
 
Stroble currently serves as Realtor for Coldwell Banker Preferred in Blue Bell, Pa. and resides in Collegeville, Pa. with his wife Erin and daughters Anna and Claire.
