Doug Billet is a 2003 graduate of Marywood where he was a four-year starter for the men’s basketball program. A member of the program from 1999-2003, Billet was named to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference’s All-Conference Second Team for both the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons and was an Honorable Mention selection in the 2000-01 season.
Voted the team’s Most Valuable Player in two seasons (2000-01, 2001-02), Billet was a two-year captain for the Pacers, selected to the position in both 2001-02 and 2002-03. He still holds the single season men’s basketball record for highest free throw percentage after making 88.8% of his chances at the charity stripe during the 2002-03 season. Billet is also in the Pacers’ record books as the career record holder in three categories. Billet made a record 197 three point attempts from 1999-2003 and attempted the most long-range shots, 550. He is also the career record holder for highest free throw percentage with an 83% career free throw percentage.
Billet currently ranks as the number three all-time leading scorer in Marywood men’s basketball history after amassing 1,204 career points during his four year career with the Pacers. He ranks second in free throws made during a single game with 11 and second in free throws attempted during a single game with 13.
A 2003 graduate of Marywood with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Billet currently serves as an Operations Manager at Enaltus, LLC in Suwanee, Georgia. He and his wife Laura reside in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
