In addition to being a Pacer Scholar-Athlete during her junior and senior years, Haikes was named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll in 2008. She served as team captain in both 2007 and 2008, and in her senior year was named the team’s MVP.

Haikes is currently the softball program’s single-season record holder for Runs Batted In (RBI) with 48 in 2008 and for home runs, which she is tied for first with 10 in 2008.

Haikes led the team to the PAC playoffs in 2008, and started in 142 of the 143 games she played during her career.  She holds a career .347 batting average, a .908 career fielding percentage with 44 doubles, eight triples, 15 home runs and 113 RBI during her career.

Haikes held the career RBI record until 2017 and now ranks second in that category. She also owned the single-season doubles record (17 in 2006) until 2015, and she currently ranks second as well. Her 143 career games played ranks tied for fourth all-time.

Haikes graduated from Marywood in 2008 with a B.A. in English Literature and earned her M.F.A in Creative Writing from Wilkes University in 2016.  She is currently employed by Boscov’s while working on revisions of her creative thesis, The Keeper, in preparation for querying agents for representation and potential publication.

Haikes remains active after graduation as an active member of Scranton’s growing running community through Scranton Running Company’s “Barrier Breaker” program.  Haikes completed the Scranton Half Marathon in 2016 and 2017.  She remains involved in softball as well as a member of NEPA’s Women’s Modified Softball League, as well as several other leagues in the area, and was a member of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Roller Radicals from July-October 2016.
