In his 16 seasons with the Marywood softball program, Bob Fitzsimmons became the winningest coach in Marywood history. Fitzsimmons amassed a school-record 286 career wins, 207 of which came in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play.
Fitzsimmons won three CSAC Coach of the Year awards in 2008, 2014 and 2017. Coach Bob led the Pacers to 11 consecutive CSAC/PAC postseason tournaments. During his tenure, Fitzsimmons led the Pacers to their first playoff appearance in 13 seasons in 2008 and followed that by establishing a program record 27-win season and another berth into the conference postseason in 2009. In 2014, Fitzsimmons led the Pacers to a CSAC Championship and competed at the NCAA Division III National Tournament, the first in program history.Â
Fitzsimmons recorded eight 20-plus win seasons. The Pacers also qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) post-season tournament five times (2011, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2017).Â
