Pittston native Michael Insalaco, Trustee EmeritusĀ of the Marywood University Board of Trustees, served on the University’s board from 1997 to 2006, including a three-year term as Board Chairman from 2003 to 2006.Ā  Mr. Insalaco and his wife, Dolores, have provided support for the University in a wide range of student-support activities and capital projects.

The Isalacos’ philanthropic affiliation with Marywood University began over ten years ago with the naming of an annual Marywood scholarship for students from Pittston's Seton Catholic High School.Ā  Mr. and Mrs. Insalaco continued their commitment to Marywood in 2001 through their support of the construction of the Insalaco Center for Studio Arts, a 60,000-sqaure foot state-of-the-art facility that contributed to the doubling of Marywood's enrollment of studio arts students in just one year.

A few years later, the Insalacos’ continued support resulted in the construction of the Michael and Dolores Insalaco Arena within the Robert J. Mellow Center for Athletics and Wellness, which opened in August 2006.Ā  And the following spring, the Insalacos provided support to name the first college within the University—the Insalaco College of Creative Arts and Management.Ā  The Insalacos also provided support for business, athletics, and scholarship initiatives within the Insalaco College.

Mr. Insalaco was selected for induction into the Athletics Hall of Fame as an Honorary Member for his family’s contributions to Marywood University and to the Athletics and Recreation Department.
