Sue MacAvoy was known as one of the most feared hitters and middle blockers in the Eastern States Athletic Conference (ECAC) who graduated from Marywood College in 1991 with a degree in the Health and Physical Education specializing in Physical Activities.

Sue's honors included being named ECAC Most Valuable Player during the conference's championships, ECAC First Team All Conference, and ECAC Player of the Week, and team co-captain. She was also named the Marywood's Volleyball MVP 1990.

MacAvoy was also a member of the softball team batting .382 with a team high 21 RBI's. Sue set a softball program record with 9 doubles in a single season.

She helped lead the Pacers to a team 17-9 record in 1989, which gained the Pacers a berth into the 1989 ESAC Softball Playoffs. She was named 1990 and 1991 softball MVP.
